While my main focus here is on my profession computer science and applied mathematics, I believe in supporting causes that promote a better world and want to highlight some:
ICANW.org, is a global initiative committed to the elimination of nuclear weapons. I strongly support their mission, as the potential use of such weapons by reckless or ruthless decision-makers is an unparalleled threat to humanity. The catastrophic consequences of nuclear weapons extend far beyond the immediate devastation, leaving a legacy of harm for generations. Moreover, their existence perpetuates global inequality, empowering nations that possess them to intimidate and coerce those that do not.
UNICEF, as I believe that children deserve our special protection and care no matter in which country they are born
Heinz Sielmann Stiftung (Germany) who promotes environmental protection especially through promoting nature education which is a very good approach in my opinion.
United24, a fundraising platform to collect money for protecting the Ukrainian people from attacks by the Russian aggressor, e.g., for developing technologically advanced air defense systems and de-mining systems. UNITED24 has five separate directions of support: Defense, Humanitarian de-mining, Medical Aid, Rebuild Ukraine, Education and science.
