A pyjama bug (graphosoma lineatum) is resting on one of the few green grass holms in the half shadow of a dry hedge.
This Southern-European bug wears its lined coat probably to scare away birds and remind them that it has a disgusting taste.
Making of: I was very lucky to see this bug, which is typically resting in the canopies of trees, so close to the floor. A wonderful species. It was in the region where a forest fire destroyed large part of the tree population, which is possibly the reason why this bug had found no home more appropriate to it.
